The Vishay Fully Integrated Proximity and Ambient Light Sensor with I2C Interface and Interrupt Function for Gesture Applications combines a proximity sensor (PS), ambient light sensor (ALS), a multiplexer, and a driver for up to 3 external IREDs/LEDs into a Compact package. It integrates photodiodes, amplifiers, and analog-to-digital conversion circuits into a single chip using CMOS technology. The 16-bit high-resolution ALS provides excellent sensing capabilities with a range of options to meet various applications, whether using dark or high-transparency lens designs. The ALS and PS include programmable interrupt features with individual high and low thresholds, optimizing resource utilization and power savings on the microcontroller.
