StarTech NLAQ Series Ethernet Cable, 5m Cable Length, Aqua - NLAQ-5M-CAT6A-PATCH

This ethernet cable provides screened Cat6a connectivity for high-speed network links. Designed for 10GbE environments, it combines foiled and braided pair shielding with stranded copper conductors to maintain signal integrity in electrically noisy settings. The flame-retardant LSZH jacket reduces toxic emissions in confined spaces while supporting Power over Ethernet requirements up to 100W.

Features and Benefits:

• 500MHz bandwidth enables stable 10Gbps data throughput
• 27AWG stranded copper reduces resistance and improves flexibility
• S/FTP construction minimises electromagnetic interference for performance
• 50μ gold-plated RJ-45 connectors lower contact wear and loss
• Low Smoke Zero Halogen jacket enhances safety in enclosed spaces

Applications

• Used for connecting 10GBASE-T switches and NAS devices
• Suitable for PoE++ delivery to access points and cameras
• Ideal for installation in enclosed or poorly ventilated areas
• Used in edge deployments requiring screened network cabling

What conductor materials are used and why?

Four pairs of Pure bare copper are used to provide consistent conductivity and predictable electrical characteristics.

How is the cable shielded to protect signals?

Each pair is wrapped in aluminium-mylar foil with an overall tinned copper braid to reduce EMI and crosstalk.

What temperature range can it operate within?

It is rated for operation from 0°C to +50°C.

How is connector durability addressed?

The RJ-45 plugs feature 50μ gold plating and snagless strain reliefs to preserve mating integrity over repeated use.
