What is a Pozidriv Screwdriver?

A Pozidriv screwdriver is a type of hand tool used to tighten or loosen Pozi screws and is an essential tool for every tool kit. Pozidriv screwdriver tips are an enhanced version of a traditional Phillips screwdriver head as they feature parallel flanks, a blunter tip and additional edges to improve torque. Pozidriv tips also help to prevent damage to the screwdriver head and screw head as the anti-slip design helps to keep the screwdriver in place when over-torqued, unlike a traditional Phillips head that is designed to cam-out.

What's the difference between Pozidriv and Phillips screwdrivers?

The main difference between a Pozidriv screwdriver and a Phillips screwdriver is the tip and design of the screws they are intended to be used with. Phillips screwdriver heads feature rounded flanks and corners that are designed to cam-out of the screw head if too much torque is applied, which can often cause damage to the screwdriver head and the screw. Pozidriv tips feature straight parallel flanks and additional edges to help improve torque and prevent cam-out, allowing a tighter drive and minimal wear.
