LAPP SKINDICHT Series Cable Gland Plug, 20mm Nominal Size, Nickel Plated Brass - 52003400

This cable gland plug provides a simple, threaded solution for closing pre-threaded entry points in industrial equipment. It is a metallic blanking plug designed to be assembled with a screwdriver and offers protection against dust and splashes in machine, motor and equipment installations without introducing additional cable entries.

Features & Benefits

• Nickel-plated brass body gives sturdy corrosion resistance
• PG11 threaded connection enables secure panel closure
• IP54 protection resists dust ingress and water spray
• With O-ring maintains IP68 sealing for submerged conditions
• Temperature range without O-ring −60 to 200°C supports high-heat use
• O-ring option allows operation from −30 to +100°C for sealed assemblies

Applications

• Suitable for closing unused gland holes on control panels
• Ideal for blanking entries on electric motor housings
• Used for sealing service openings in machine frames
• Can be used in automation cabinets to prevent ingress
• Used for temporary or permanent blanking during assembly

What sealing options are available to adapt to different environments?

An elastomeric O-ring can be fitted to improve the ingress rating to IP68 and to alter the approved temperature window to −30°C to +100°C.

How should it be installed to ensure correct assembly?

The plug is introduced into the pre-threaded hole and tightened using a screwdriver on the head to engage the PG11 thread and compress the O-ring if fitted.

Which materials contact the enclosure and sealing surfaces?

The external body is nickel-plated brass while the supplied sealing element is MADE from NBR elastomer to ensure compatibility with common housings.

Can it withstand elevated operating temperatures for short durations?

Without the O-ring the component is rated to operate up to 200°C, allowing use in high-temperature applications where a soft seal is not required.
