StarTech USBA Series IC Socket USB Cable, 500mm Cable Length, Black Jacket - USBAUB50CMRA

This IC socket USB cable is a purpose-built connection lead for data and power transfer between devices that use a Type A receptacle and a Micro B interface. It is intended for use where a compact, direct male-to-male cable is required for interfacing with programming sockets and development hardware. The cable conforms to a recognised safety standard and is finished in a dark-coloured protective sheath.

Features and Benefits:

• Supports USB 2.0 signalling for high-speed data transfer
• Male-to-male terminations enable direct host-to-device linking
• 500mm length allows tidy connections in bench setups
• PVC jacket resists abrasion and simplifies cable routing
• Black exterior reduces visual distraction in lab environments
• CE marked for conformity with applicable safety requirements

Applications

• Suitable for connecting programmers to IC sockets
• Used with development boards requiring Micro B connectivity
• Ideal for bench-top firmware flashing operations
• Can be used for short-range USB data synchronisation
• Suitable for service and diagnostic tool connections

What materials are used for the outer covering and why?

The outer covering is polyvinyl chloride, which provides mechanical protection and flexibility suited to repeated handling.

Which connector genders are fitted and how does that affect cabling options?

Both ends are fitted with male connectors, so it links directly between a host Type A receptacle and a Micro B device without adapters.

What version of USB signalling does it support and what performance does that imply?

It supports USB 2.0 signalling, which accommodates high-speed data transfer rates typical for firmware updates and device configuration tasks.

Is the cable intended for hazardous-area installations?

It does not have hazardous-area certification and is therefore for use in standard, non-classified environments only.
