Siemens 6ES7 Series Sensor Box, IP65/67, 24V Rated Voltage - 6ES7147-5JD00-0BA0

This sensor box is a Compact IO-Link Master module designed for field-level device connection in industrial automation. It provides four M12 ports for sensors and actuators, supports IO-Link Plus standard digital I/O, and is built for operation across a wide temperature range. The unit integrates diagnostic LEDs and is configurable via STEP 7 and TIA Portal, making it suitable for distributed I/O installations where local device communication and straightforward configuration are required.

Features and Benefits:

• 4 ports enable simultaneous control of four devices
• IP65/67 protection allows outdoor and wash‑down operation
• 20 m cable length supports remote sensor placement
• −30°C to 55°C range permits extreme‑temperature deployment
• 24V supply with 4A per load delivers stable device power

Applications

• Suitable for factory‑floor sensor networking with IO-Link
• Used with distributed I/O in machine automation cells
• Ideal for outdoor level‑monitoring and wash‑down areas
• Can be used for encoder supply and short‑circuit‑protected outputs
• Used for Rapid device change via IO-Link parameter transfer

What communication speeds does it support?

It supports IO-Link COM1 at 4.8 kBaud, COM2 at 38.4 kBaud and COM3 at 230 kBaud.

How is device configuration handled on site?

Configuration is possible via STEP 7 V5.5 SP4 Hotfix 3 or TIA Portal from V13 SP1.

What diagnostic information is available locally?

Channel and module status are shown by green and red LEDs and parameterisable diagnostic alarms.

How is electrical isolation implemented?

The module features isolation tested at 707 V DC between channels and the backplane bus.

What protection exists for encoder outputs?

The four 24V encoder outputs include electronic short‑circuit protection and a 1.4 A total output limit.
