Siemens IWLAN Series Communication Module for Use with Communication Module

This communication module provides industrial wireless connectivity for demanding environments, offering single-radio access point functionality across 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands with support for IEEE 802.11a/b/g/h/n standards. Designed for integration into IWLAN networks, it supplies an RJ45 Ethernet Interface and an external R-SMA antenna connection for flexible deployment. The device operates from a DC Terminal Block and is intended for use where national approvals and hazardous-area installation rules apply.

Power is supplied via a 3‑pole screw Terminal allowing DC input from the Terminal Block at 19.2 V or 28.8 V ranges and typical current draw is 0.15 A at 24 V.

Operating ambient range is 0 to 55 °C with storage and transport rated -40 to +85 °C and up to 95% relative humidity at 25 °C without condensation.

It supports CLI and web-based management, SNMP v1/v2/v3, HTTP/HTTPS, Telnet, TFTP, LLDP, and NTP/SNTP time synchronisation.

The unit supports STP/RSTP and MSTP protocols and offers forced roaming on IP or link failure for continuous connectivity.

For use in Zone 2 hazardous atmospheres it must be mounted inside an enclosure meeting at least IP54 to satisfy EN 50021 requirements.
