AVX 1206 Flexiterm Series MLCC Capacitors
AVX multilayer ceramic capacitors with FLEXITERM are designed to enhance the mechanical flexure and temperature cycling performance of a standard ceramic capacitor with an X7R dielectric.The FLEXITERM technology was developed by AVX to meet the demand for components with enhanced mechanical strength and flexibility when used in harsh environment applications, such as automobiles, and in applications where temperature variation exists. It provides up to 5mm of flexure without internal cracks, 3mm above the 2mm industry standard.These MLCCs reduce circuit board flex failures and offer increased temperature cycling performance of 3,000 cycles and beyond, a base metal electrode system, and automotive and commercial grade product selections. AEC-Q200 qualified.

Ceramic Capacitors exhibit low parasitics and excellent EMI filtering capabilities. In a multilayer configuration, they display high capacitance values and various voltage ratings over a wide temperature range. Multiple styles are available such as MLCC chips, leaded capacitors, stacked capacitors and capacitors that utilise unique geometries.
NP0(C0G) and X7R dielectrics available in different case sizes
X7R formulations are called "temperature stable" ceramics and fall into EIA Class II materials. X7R is the most popular of these intermediate dielectric constant materials. Its temperature variation of capacitance is within ±15% from -55°C to +125°C. This capacitance change is non-linear. High value, low leakage and small size are difficult parameters to obtain in capacitors for high voltage systems. AVX high voltage MLCC chip capacitors meet these performance characteristics and are designed for applications such as snubbers in high frequency power converters, resonators in SMPS, and high voltage coupling/DC blocking. These high voltage chip designs exhibit low ESRs at high frequencies. To make high voltage chips, larger physical sizes than are normally encountered are necessary. These larger sizes require that special precautions be taken in applying these chips in surface mount assemblies. In response to this, and to follow from the success of the FLEXITERM® range of low voltage parts, AVX is delighted to offer a FLEXITERM® high voltage range of capacitors. The FLEXITERM® layer is designed to enhance the mechanical flexure and temperature cycling performance of a standard ceramic capacitor, giving you a solution where board flexure or temperature cycle damage are concerns.
