TESA Matt Gaffer Tape, 50mm Width, 50m Length - 53949-00000-03

This matt gaffer tape is a low-reflective stage tape designed for secure temporary fixing and cable management in demanding production environments. It combines a polyethylene backing with a natural rubber adhesive to adhere reliably to fabrics, stage flooring and equipment while remaining removable without leaving excessive residue within its operating temperature range.

Features and Benefits:

• 1.60N/cm adhesion provides strong initial tack without residue
• 85N/cm tensile strength resists tearing under load
• 14% elongation absorbs strain during movement
• 125°C maximum operating temperature withstands hot conditions
• 0.31mm thickness delivers a balance of flexibility and durability

Applications

• Suitable for securing cables on stage and set floors
• Ideal for temporary marking in live production environments
• Used with lighting rigging where low reflectivity is required
• Can be used for quick repairs to polyethylene surfaces
• Used for bundling and protecting fragile equipment during transport

What backing material contributes to flexibility?

The tape uses a polyethylene backing which allows conformability around curves and edges.

How does the adhesive composition affect removal?

The natural rubber adhesive offers strong initial grip yet permits removal with minimal transfer on many surfaces.

What performance metric indicates resistance to stretching?

Elongation at break is 14% which quantifies its Ability to deform before failure.

How is heat exposure quantified for safe use?

The tape’s maximum operating temperature is 125°C, defining the upper limit for thermal stability.
