    Yes

    What is SDS?

The Slotted Drive System or SDS was created in the late 1970s when many masonry workers were having issues drilling holes into bricks, concrete, and other hard materials. An SDS drill bit has slots or indentations which allow it to be propelled forward by the drill, using a hammer action. By doing this, the bit can easily push through hard materials like concrete or brickwork and also involves minimal effort for the user because they do not need to lean or push on the drill to make it work efficiently. The hammer action that is created by the drill and the bit together is enough pressure to allow the drill to do all the hard work.
