Honeywell SME Series IREDs
The SME and SMD series, from Honeywell, are discrete ceramic Infrared (IR) emitters. They are in compact surface mount (SMT) packages with a glass lens which helps to minimise crosstalk. These high intensity IREDs can be matched with both SMD2420 photodiodes and SMD2440 phototransistors.
Suitable applications for the SMD series include; optical encoders for motion control, computer peripherals, vending applications, smoke detectors and medical equipment.
