RS PRO Capacitive Block Proximity Sensor, 8 mm Detection, PNP NO, 10 → 30 V dc

Use this capacitive sensor from RS PRO to detect the presence of both metallic and non-metallic objects without making physical contact. The proximity sensor uses an electrical field to identify materials that are conductive or have a higher dielectric constant than air.


The robust PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) material means that the unit is resistant to both chemicals and heat, so you can use it in a wide range of demanding industrial environments. It has an Ingress Protection (IP) rating of IP67, so it's dust-tight and can withstand temporary immersion in water. For additional peace of mind, this sensor has reverse polarity and short circuit overload protection. This protects your equipment in the event of faulty wiring.
