RS PRO ESD-Safe Bench/Floor Mat

Introducing a versatile anti-static ESD mat from RS PRO. This mat is suitable for use on a bench or floor applications, offers thick a 3-layer ESD mat that’s hard-wearing with anti-fatigue properties. The smooth surface makes cleaning up quick and easy.

Where would you use these ESD mats?

Anti-static matting should be laid out in the workshops or advanced laboratories for microelectronic industries such as electronic semi-conduct devices, electronic computers, electronic communication equipment and integrated circuits.

Grounding

This material must be properly grounded for optimum electrical performance.

Cleaning

For optimum electrical performance, the surface must be cleaned regularly using an ESD mat cleaner. Do not use cleaners with silicone. Silicone build-up has insulating properties and will create a film on the surface.

Why is it important to be ESD safe?

ESD safe mats help to create an ESD protected area (EPA). This is a defined space where all surfaces, objects, people and ESD Sensitive Devices (ESDs) are kept at the same electrical potential. This is achieved by using anti-static materials such as rubber. The mats can be used on your worktop bench or the floor. You can also use ESD safe gloves and ESD safe footwear to ensure optimum personal grounding and protection. It's important to create an EPA because electrostatic discharge can cause safety issues and damage your electrical components.

Product must be properly grounded for optimal, electrical performance. Grounding hardware is NOT included.
