Ambient Light and Proximity Sensor SFH 7770

The SFH 7770 series, from Osram Opto Semiconductors, are a two-in-one digital solution, these compact surface mount devices are designed for the simultaneous detection of ambient light and the proximity of reflecting objects; and through the use of 2 or 3 IR LEDs instead of one, it is even possible to detect gestures. Applications include: mobile phones, PDAs, notebooks, cameras and other consumer products.

The Proximity Sensor (PS) has a detection range of up to 100mm (SFH 7770) or 300mm (SFH 7770 E6) and outputs to drive up to three IR emitters
The Ambient Light Sensor (ALS) has high linearity and spectral sensitivity well matched to the human eye
