A laptop lock is designed to protect your laptop from being stolen. Nearly all laptops have a Kensington Security Slot, also known as a K-Slot or Kensington lock on the side which forms part of an anti-theft security system. The laptop lock consists of a cylindrical lock on one end and cable on the other. On the end of the cylindrical lock is a 'key' which is plugged into the slot on the side of the PC, the lock is then secured in place using a key or a combination that requires the input of digits or a password. The cable on the other end of the lock is then secured or looped round a heavy object to secure the laptop and prevent it from being stolen.
