Are Hex keys and Torx keys the same?
The main difference between Hex keys and Torx keys is that Hex keys have 6 sides and are shaped hexagonally, hence their name. Torx keys are generally star-shaped with the benefit of adding greater contact points for the fastener, hugely reducing the risk of rounding the fastener, which can be a common issue when applying a large amount of torque. Because of this, Hex keys generally have greater difficulty when a large amount of torque is applied, and the fastener can easily be rounded.
What is the benefit of a short arm Torx key?
