ABB MC4-Evo2 Series Photovoltaic Connectors

The MC4-Evo2 series is the latest generation of MC4 photovoltaic connectors for use in solar applications consisting of plugs, panel receptacles and branch connectors. These MC4-Evo2 photovoltaic solar panel connectors offer high performance, proven long-term efficiency and worldwide certifications. The voltage capabilities of up to 1500 VDC (IEC) / 1500 VDC (UL) of these MC4-Evo2 PV connectors are the highest in the market. These MC4-Evo2 photovoltaic connectors can be installed in unrestricted access locations any professional (Class A approval). Quick and easy installation is achieved by using specially adapted tools. A proven contact technology and a NEC 2011 compliant integrated locking clip provides a long-term secure connection. These MC4-Evo2 photovoltaic connectors are suitable for use in harsh conditions and have undergone extensive environmental testing including UV, ammonia and salt mist spray. A high IP rating of IP65/IP68 can be achieved when mated. The housings of these MC4-Evo2 photovoltaic solar panel connectors have a robust design and are made from impact resistant polyamide. The MC4-Evo2 series of photovoltaic connectors are made by Multi-Contact and are therefore fully compatible with other Multi-Contact MCV PV products.

Product Application Information

These MC4-Evo2 photovoltaic connectors are for use in commercial, industrial and residential rooftop solar installations. Connections are made between DC circuits from the PV modules to the combiner boxes (in series or in parallel) and from the combiner boxes to the string inverter. The panel receptacles are used for installing on combiner boxes and inverters. The photovoltaic branch connector is used for the parallel-serial connection of photo voltaic modules.
