RS PRO Microwave Sensor for 150W and 200W High Bay Lights

RS PRO plug in microwave sensor for high bay LED lights 176-8521 and 176-8565.

This accessory is ideal for converting standard high bay lights to an automated sensor meaning that the high bay light can operate when movement is detected.

By using microwave sensors, you will see significant cost savings as the lights will only be on when triggered by a person walking by. In addition to energy savings, using these RS PRO microwave sensors also increases the lifetime of your lights as they are not on unless the light is needed.

This RS PRO LED microwave sensor fitting is compatible with the RS PRO range of High Bay’s. With adjustable settings and a plug and play feature and 2m of power flex you can make this work best for any situation.

Features and Benefits:

  • 2 m of power flex included

  • Material - aluminium and polycarbonate

  • Manually adjustable sensitivity, time and Lux

  • Detection sensitivity adjustments from 10% to 100%

  • Hold time adjustments from 5 seconds up to 30mins

  • Daylight sensor adjustable from 50 lux to 200 lux and disabled

  • Motion detection 0.5 to 3m/s

  • Detection zone: 16 m Depth x 15 m Height

  • Type of Protection: IP65 – the 6 means it is completely dust tight and the 5 means it is protected against pressurised water jets from any direction

  • IK rating IK08

Typical Applications:

High bay LED lights are designed for use in areas with high ceilings and larger areas and feature powerful LED bulbs to focus and distribute light at a long range. High bay Led lights can also feature microwave sensor technology allowing them to operate when movement is detected, making them a high energy efficient solution. They are use in a wide range of areas including:
Car Parks – Indoor and outdoor
High ceilings such as shopping centres, airports, commercial buildings, lobbies

How does a microwave sensor light work?
These motion sensors work by using electro-magnetic radiation. The sensor emits waves which are then reflected back to the receiver. This means that if an object is moving e.g. person walking by, these waves are going to be altered. The sensor detects a change from this movement which commands a microprocessor to switch the light on.

What is the difference between a Microwave sensor and a PIR sensor?
A microwave sensor emits microwave signal for detection. A PIR sensor senses infrared signal emitted by various items which includes a person.
